Error in SigDigits in Excel Data Import

The “Import” checkbox on the Excel Data Import form is read-only. You cannot uncheck it.

Before importing any data from Excel, J Street LIMS performs a series of validity checks on it. If there is a problem with results for a specific sample, the Import box will be unchecked and an explanation of the problem will appear in the Status column.

The checkbox being read-only is a safety feature. The system will not let you override the data validity checks. If it did, bad data could infest the system, calling into question the integrity of all the data.

If you don’t want to import certain values for whatever reason, there are two simple workarounds:

  1. Simply leave the associated cells blank on the Excel worksheet. As you demonstrated in one of your screenshots, a missing or invalid value in Excel will appear as an “Invalid result” on the Excel Data Import worksheet within J Street LIMS and will not be imported.
  2. De-select the Sample from the “Results Entry by Analyte Setup” form which pops up when you click on “Results by Analyte”. After querying your samples, click the [Select] button to bring up the “Results by Analyte Select” screen. The column on the far right of that screen is the “Selected” column. You can freely check and uncheck samples from this screen.
